The Directorate of Purchase & Stores (DPS) has released a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Purchase Assistant / Junior Storekeeper with a total of 65 vacancies. The post is classified as Group ‘C’ and falls under Pay Level 4 (Rs.25500-Rs.81100) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The age limit for applying is between 18 to 27 years with age relaxation provided for SC (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PwBD (Unreserved) candidates (10 years).
Essential Educational Qualifications:
- Graduate in Science with 60% marks. OR
- Commerce graduate with 60% marks. OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering/ Electronics / Computer Science with 60% marks.

Centres of Examination:
The Level 1 and Level 2 Examinations will be conducted at various cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Indore, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Guwahati, and Nagpur.
Scheme of Examinations:
- Level 1 Examination: Objective type test.
- Level 2 Examination: Descriptive type test.
Level 1 Examination:
The Level 1 Examination will be a Written Examination (OMR based Objective Multiple Choice Type) and will consist of the following subjects:
- General English
- General intelligence & reasoning in science (Basic concepts 12th Std. Level) OR Basic Accounting Principles (12th Std. Level)
- Quantitative Aptitude (Arithmetic)
- General Knowledge
- Computer Knowledge The maximum marks for the Level 1 Examination is 200, and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.
Level 2 Examination:
The Level 2 Examination will be a Written Examination (Descriptive Type) and will consist of two parts:
- Part A: English Language comprising of comprehension, précis, and English Grammar – 50% (To be written in English)
- Part B: Descriptive test comprising of Essay, Noting and Drafting – 50% (To be written purely either in English or in Hindi. Answers should not be written in a combination of both English and Hindi) The maximum marks for the Level 2 Examination is 100, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours.
