Online engagement of GDS – limited facility/access for extra two days for correction in online applications

The Department of Posts, India had invited online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) on 27.01.2023. The activities for registration and application submission were carried out from 27.01.2023 to 16.02.2023, as per the schedule. However, certain modifications had to be carried out by the Department in the GDS Engagement Portal on different dates to configure some Educational Boards of four states based on different years of passing, as per the enclosed list.

Limited Facility for Modification

Due to the unavailability of the correct configuration of years of passing of the educational boards, there may be a chance of error on the part of candidates in selecting the correct board and filling up the other details relating to the subjects studied, marks/grades obtained, etc. In order to provide a fair chance to such candidates, the Department has decided to open a two-day window from 25.02.2023 to 26.02.2023 for the review of their online applications with the option to edit the Education Board, subjects, marks, grades, etc.

Eligibility for Modification

This limited facility/access for modification during the two days window would be available only for the candidates who had filled up their applications by selecting any of the educational boards as per the list referred to above. The candidates would not be able to make any correction in the other data, such as Name, Father’s Name, Aadhar, Whether employed, Whether NOC available, Present address, Permanent address, for which one time edit correction window was already provided from 17.02.2023 to 19.02.2023.

Information to Eligible Candidates

The candidates who are eligible to modify applications to the above extent are being informed separately through registered SMS/Email. The latest application will be treated as final, and the merit list will be prepared based on the details mentioned in the last modified online application.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Department of Posts has provided a limited facility/access for correction in online applications for two extra days, from 25.02.2023 to 26.02.2023, for the candidates who had filled up their applications by selecting any of the educational boards as per the list referred to above. This facility is intended to provide a fair chance to such candidates who may have made errors due to the unavailability of correct configuration of years of passing of educational boards. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct any errors in their applications and submit the final modified application for consideration.
